Luke 2:52 (NIV) ... Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
Favor = receiving kindness or blessing from God; the state or position of approval from God
Proverbs 16:7 (ESV) When a man’s ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
Luke 1:30 (NIV) “...Mary; you have found favor with God.”
The more understanding I have of what God requires of me, and the more I align myself according to his Word, the more of God’s favor I will walk in.
It’s not just a heart thing
Isaiah 1:19 (NIV) If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land.
Luke 11:28 (NIV) “Blessed are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”
Draw near to God
James 4:8 (NIV) Come near to God and he will come near to you...
Proverbs 28:13 (NLT) People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.
Meditate on God’s Word
Psalm 1:1-3 (NIV) Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.
Matthew 7:13-14 (NIV) “...For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
Hebrews 12:11 (NIV) No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
Zechariah 4:6 (NIV) ...'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.
