Knowing God

Praise hands

Mark 16:15-18 (NLT): “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.
16 Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be
condemned. 17 These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out
demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. 18 They will be able to handle
snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to
place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.

Ephesians 3:14-19 (NIV): “For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family
in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his [unlimited resources] he may
strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in
your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have
power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is
the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge- that you may be filled to
the measure of all the fullness of God.

It’s a heart thing

Matthew 23:25-28 (NLT): “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees.
Hypocrites! or you are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are
filthy- full of greed and self-indulgence! 26 You blind Pharisee! First wash the inside of the cup
and the dish, and then the outside will become clean, too. 27b For you are like whitewashed tombs- beautiful
on the outside but filled on the inside with dead people’s bones and all sorts of impurity.
28 Outwardly you look like righteous people, but inwardly your hearts are filled with hypocrisy
and lawlessness.”

Strength

Ephesians 3:16 (NIV): I pray that out of his [unlimited resources] he may strengthen you with
power through his Spirit in your inner being…

Maturity

Ephesians 3:17-18 (NIV): that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that
you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy
people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ…

Fullness

Ephesians 3:19 (NIV): … that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Ephesians 3:20-21 (NIV): Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or
imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in
Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Ephesians 3:17 (NLT): Then Christ will [dwell] in your hearts as you trust in him.
